The boys are back!!! This burst of jaunty, summer piano indie rock sees the return of BBC. Their third album, 'A Different Kind Of Fix' will be out soon hopefully, but for now enjoy this real summer masterpiece. (woop)

Ok so I don't know who these guys are but I heard one of their songs and it reminded me of a bond theme tune, very catchy indeed....they sound like a rock band, I think but the song 'Swan King'  makes me think more indie alternative, any way make your own mind up. Have a listen here.

Album Review: Wu Lyf - Go Tell Fire To The Mountain.

'GTFTTM' Was one of the most exciting albums of the year, mainly because it came from one of the most mysterious bands around, Wu Lyf. Along with other enigmas such as Jai Paul, SBTRKT, Deptford Goth ect. Wu Lyf have been released one 12" that is available from their website.

     The first track I heard from them was 'L Y F' which id the opening track on the album. Its a mix of a repeated organ riff with a summery, shimmering guitar and huge drums. The singing is, of course nearly impossible to make out, but that is part of Wu Lyf's sound and it works really well. One track which i really enjoyed was 'We Bros' which again has that euphoric, summery feel to it, but it builds into this amazing chorus  of 'WE BROS! WE BROS!' Wu Lyf's songs seem to all lie around a central point of brotherhood, which their website would suggest as the 'LYF' is attaining a cult following.

    This really is a fantastic album, one of the most original I've heard in a long time, it shows that the Manchester music scene is still thriving. One criticism would be that the songs may become too simiar, but that still leaves space for the band to develop their sound. 9/10.

New Artist: Two Inch Punch

2011 is certainly the year for the UK bass culture. With Jai Paul and friends leading the way it looks like an exciting year. Even more exciting because of this guy, Two Inch Punch, Who has know of the best logos i think I've ever seen. His name is Ben Ash and he describes himself as a 'frustrated soul/RnB singer, with an ear for harmony.' He is also inspired by The Beatles short love songs. 

     The first of his tracks that I heard was 'Love You Up', it is simply amazing. Its a mixture of heavy bass, wondering synths and high pitched vocals. Listen below. This really had be shouting 'Holy shit this is good.'

Interview: Jordan Schrader

Ok so earlier I wrote about this new and brilliant artist I found called Jordan Schrader, his stuff is truly brilliant if you haven't heard it already. He's only 20 and has already self released an EP on iTunes, this is a guy who has adapted to the changing music industry and done it very well indeed.

WF, MS: What was the first instrument you learnt to play?


Jordan: Guitar.

WF, MS: Who/what are your major influences?


Jordan: God, my mom, The Strokes, MGMT, The xx, Foster The People, Tegan and Sara, Arcade Fire.

WF, MS: What was the first record that inspired you to make music?


Jordan: Probably any classic rock when I was really young haha.

WF, MS: Who would be your dream collaboration? 


Jordan: Maybe an actual knowledgeable rapper like Lupe Fiasco but I'm really not sure about this question haha.

This guy is amazing! I cant believe that he is not signed. He reminds me of the xx, temper trap and MGMT in there more alternative stage. I really recommend this to anyone, I dont know much about him but he has a self released EP on iTunes called 'Proper Stakes.' This is brand new fresh music for summer 2011.

Album Out: Young Montana? - Limerence

I'm a fan of hip-hop, im a fan of glitch-hop in fact i just fucking love hopping really. Young Montana? has released is album 'Limerence', and by god its good. The first track i heard from the glitch master was 'Sacre Cool', this is the second track on the album and it really shows the best of YM? The twisted synths with the hyperactive beats meshed together with the sharp vocal samples create something simply brilliant. Another show of his talent is 'Connct'. This really takes you by surprise with its brilliantly crafted synth hook and sampled Glockenspiel i believe? The nostalgic 'Bad.day' provides a more mellow outlook on YM? that shows his sampling and production skills. Over all this is one of my favourite albums of the year and i doubt that will change. 9/10
